Fair Trade Coffee (Yirgacheffe Light Roast)
As a rule I don't like light roast coffee but this is wonderful! This coffee has a yummy flavor--kind of fruity and nutty. Plus it's just fun to say 'Yirgacheffe,' which is a town in southeastern Ethiopia. Repeat after me: Yur guh chef (The 'ch' sound is like the 'ch' in 'cheese.' Sorry, I'm from Wisconsin, cheese is my only frame of reference.)
Assorted Small Purses Grab Bag
Here's the deal--I have zillions and zillions of bags, so many that it is mathematically impossible for me to get them all up on my website. So for $55 I'll send you 5 in assorted styles and colors.
Open Weave Scarf (Assorted Pinks and Oranges and Reds)
Guatemalan weavers have an uncanny eye for color.

Welcome to Heart of the Sky Fair Trade
***If your order is over $100 go to the 'Free Stuff' category and help yourself to an Arte Maya calendar.*** June 2009 'Fair trade' is a simple, straight-forward concept: pay people fairly for their labor and their lives will improve. When artisans and farmers are paid fairly extraordinary changes in their lives occur. They can stockpile a few months worth of beans and corn in case the next crop fails. They can put a tin roof on their house before the rainy season hits. They can afford transportation so their kids can go to the neighboring village where the traveling nurse is giving diptheria boosters. They can dig a well so they have a consistent source of water. They don't have to risk their lives coming to the US to slaughter our chickens and pick our strawberries. They have hope. They can envision a better life. 1. July 2nd-5th at the National Women's Music Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. 2. July 9th-12th at the Transworld Wholesale show in Rosemont, Illinois. (Wholesale customers only, please.) 3. July 18th at the Madison Children's Museum American Girl clearance event in Middleton, Wisconsin. (Please note that this event is held at 8830 N. Greenview in Middleton, NOT at the museum, and tickets are required to enter.) 4. I don't have a physical store, but if you are in the southwest Wisconsin area and want to do some shopping in person, great! Just give me a call (608-588-5223) and we'll arrange something. (I live about 45 minutes west of Madison.) 5. Host a Fair Trade Fundraiser. (Click on the link at the left for details.) 6. If you think my products would be a good match for your local co-op, gift shop, etc, let me know and I'll send out my wholesale information. Thank you for supporting human rights by supporting fair trade. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.
